Cameron Sargent
About Cameron Sargent
Cameron Sargent is a young British Artist who enjoys creating mixed media paintings, sculptures and lens art and has a particular interest in abstract, modern and surreal work. Cameron is Autistic and has a learning disability, generalised anxiety and is both red and green colour blind. Despite these disabilities, and with the right support, he has been able to turn many of his coping mechanisms to his advantage. He brings his Autistic passion for detail, shape and pattern into his art work, often favouring the bright colours he is more readily able to see.
Outside of his artistic career, his strict routine and desire for perfection has led to a very successful Figure Skating career. He is 1st in the World Rankings for Inclusive Mens Free Skating and is current World Champion in Inclusive Mens Free Skating, Free Dance, Pairs, Free Elements and Compulsory Figures. In mainstream skating, he became the 2024 British Champion in Free Skate and in Free Dance at the recent British Championships at bronze and pre-bronze levels. His dedication and tenacity pervades all areas of his life and is readily seen in his art. In this Exhibition Cameron focuses on the many aspects of Autism and how it has affected his artistic journey, exhibiting eleven works.
